About
J. Douglas Kirk received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento in 1986, where he earned awards for Trial Advocacy. Mr. Kirk is a seasoned litigator with thirty nine years of courtroom experience in business litigation and criminal defense matters. He has extensive trial experience, including more than one hundred bench and jury trials, and has developed particular expertise in recovery of fraud, theft and embezzlement losses. Whether in court, mediation, arbitration or deposition, Mr. Kirk is relentless in his pursuit of the truth, hunting down documentation and reading every word to obtain the best possible result for his client. Mr Kirk is determined to represent each client zealously and enthusiastically.
Mr. Kirk also enjoys the process and education of training others. He was previously an adjunct Professor of Law at Trinity School in Santa Ana, California, where he was named Professor of the Year in 1993. He also held a position as an adjunct professor at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California throughout the years. Mr. Kirk is admitted to practice law in the State of California, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr Kirk is also deeply involved in his community. He and his family have lived in Irvine for more than twenty five years. He is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program in Irvine, and serves as a subject matter expert and lecturer regarding the “Good Samaritan” law for CERT training. Mr. Kirk has served as a board member of numerous non-profit organizations, including ENLACE and Finally Home Foundation, and his love for education has led him to serve on the Board of Directors of The Stony Brook School, a private boarding school in Stony Brook, NY for many years. Running marathons, training, yoga and hiking is a part of his lifestyle when he has a moment to relax in his home with his wife of 30 years. Raising his two now-grown sons, Gabriel and Elijah has been the honor of his life.
