David P. Toberty
About
David Toberty was born and raised in Orange County. He received his Juris Doctor cum laude from Regent University School of Law in Virginia in 1990. He was a member of the Regent University Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Award for achieving the highest academic score in Family Law.
Mr. Toberty has practiced law in Southern California since 1991. His practice is focused exclusively on Family Law which includes Divorce, Mediation, Child Custody, Child Support, Paternity, and Stepparent Adoptions. This field of practice can be precarious; Mr. Toberty has the experience and intuition to navigate and advocate for his clients through difficult and traumatic times.
David Toberty has taught as an adjunct professor at Trinity Law School, teaching courses in Family Law and Community Property. He enjoys this aspect of sharing his knowledge with upcoming attorneys as his experience is invaluable in the classroom as well as the courtroom.
Mr. Toberty has been married for forty years and has four adult children, and three grandchildren; family is imperative and important to him. David is an avid runner, having completed several marathons and spends his weekends hiking, running, and training. An avid reader, he spends time at Lake Arrowhead as much as possible for study and unwinding and loves to travel. He served on the board of Mariners Christian School for many years, has spent years volunteering within the faith-based community and currently serves as an elder at Southlands Church of Santa Ana.
